Holiday Spirit Shared by Your Jewru

Happy Holidays Everyone!

I am sorry that I didn’t post last week! I was swamped with finals and my crew lost my footage of the snowball episode.

ANYWAY…considering that it’s the holidays I felt it was necessary to discuss how important food is to the traditions we follow.

Hanukkah is celebrated with Latkes and Apple Sauce. Christmas is celebrated with Ham and Apple Cider. SOME PEOPLE celebrate the holidays with Chinese Food. I’M NOT ONE TO JUDGE.

Food is something that is universally shared. Every culture has their little additions to the culinary world that make it special AND we ALL get to enjoy them. By sharing our dishes and traditions we are sharing a little part of ourselves.

NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE THIS HOLIDAY REMEMBER TWO THINGS:

1. Food brings people together
2. Share food with those who have none to spread the holiday happiness ESPECIALLY, during these economic times.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Soooooooo High Snowballs

*This is a holiday munchie for college stoners. I prepared this recipe on my TV show “Baked: With Jamie Wollberg” and I will be posting the video shortly. Enjoy!

Happy Holidays Stoners! Now, I know that it’s finals week and your all FREAKING OUT, but I am more than sure that you are toking on your half hour breaks. Well, I am here to tell YOU about my snack called, Sooooooo High Snowballs, which only take about 17 minutes to make! You are going to need to steal from your dining hall, or buy your own, Dried Shredded Coconut. You are also going to need a big handful of baby marshmallows.
First thing you need to do is grab a SMALL bowl and line the bottom with shredded coconut until you can’t see the bottom. Next take your marshmallows and throw them into the bowl and pop them in the microwave for 20 seconds. Make sure to stop the microwave after 10 seconds and check to make sure that your marshmallows are just slightly melted and soft because otherwise you can’t form your ball.
Next take more shredded coconut and cover the marshmallow surface. Then pick up the marshmallow and coconut mixture and try and mold it all into a ball, while simultaneously, adding more shredded coconut to the ball. It’s going to be really sticky, so you may want to WASH YOUR HANDS with WARM WATER a few times as you do this, but as you add more and more coconut, it will get easier.
Once your ball is completely covered with coconut and no longer sticky you can throw the snowball on a plate and put it in the fridge for 15 minutes. At this point you can go on your sacred break, burn one, and be back in time for your Sooooooo High Snowball.
